Raymond Building Supply hosted a Lunch and Learn on new Florida Building Code Changes that will be in effect June 30, 2015. The seminar took place on June 5 at their Naples location, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and featured guest speaker John Farinelli from JC Code & Construction Consultants, Inc. Jim Heise, PGT/Field Specialist and building officials from the City of Naples, City of Marco Island, and Collier County were available to answer questions.
In April, the International Code Council and the Florida Building Commission housed within the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) announced significant changes to the Florida Building Codes with a goal of safer, sustainable buildings and homes. The goal of the seminar was to educate the community, builders, contractors and other building professionals on the changes.
Up to 150 industry professionals attended and were able to eat lunch and ice cream, and attend the seminar with Q&A session. Products were presented that can be implemented with new code changes, including PGT Industries, Advantex Construction & Utility Services, ZipSystem, James Hardie Building Products, Schlage and Universal Building Products.
